Come work with us year-round to register and turn out voters. Come provide San Antonians with the nonpartisan election information they need to vote with confidence. Come educate communities about critical public policy issues, host informative forums and debates, and engage at the local and state levels on legislative priorities.

We need you and your voice to help make democracy work!

Who can become a member?

Membership is open to all people age 16 or above. Yes, you high schoolers can join and be an active member. This will be an excellent way to learn about democracy and how to protect it.

Why should I join and be an active member?

As a member of the League, you will get actively involved in local, state and national issues, connect with a network of dedicated grassroots leaders, and sharpen your leadership and advocacy skills.

Because we are a grassroots, all-volunteer organization, members have opportunities to volunteer in ways that shape the future direction and priorities of the organization.

Members...

vote on the policy areas to which the League will dedicate itself each year
assume off-board leadership roles
are eligible for positions on the Board of Directors
can participate in the League's newly initiated study of income inequality
are eligible to be selected as delegates to the state and national League conventions.

How much does it cost?

Individual membership: $70
Household membership (2 people): $100
Student memberships: $5.

Your membership dues are tax deductible.

When you join our San Antonio League chapter, you also become a member of the state (LWVTX) and national (LWVUS) chapters, adding your voice to a powerful force of members from 700 chapters spanning all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong. Your membership dues support LWVSAA, LWVTX, and LWVUS.

From an individual membership, LWVSAA retains $16.00.
From a household membership, LWVSAA retains $19.00.
From a student membership, LWVSAA retains $5.00.
