School district elections are important! School Board Trustees are elected
from their community and make decisions based on the community's needs, values
and interests.
School Board Trustees have great influence on what happens in schools. In
addition to hiring and evaluating the school board superintendent, trustees
make decisions on what learning resources are available to students, how
school district money is spent, what school taxes you pay, and which schools
stay open or close. They also approve bond proposals for capital improvements
that are presented to voters.
