Earning the Youth Vote

Survey and webinar to encourage and assist voters ages 18-29

The Program & Advocacy committee wants to both help prepare and encourage young people to vote. To achieve this, we are conducting a survey to determine what prevents this age group from voting and how the League can help to overcome these hurdles.  Please tell the young people you know that we are seeking their opinions on voting and elections. They can share their thoughts with us through our brief survey via the QR Code or at:  https://qualtricsxmsgtbm6hdh.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eIF3yXRwIfrFin4
Youth Voter Survey

We will use the survey results to conduct a webinar in late September – just in time to ensure folks can register to vote or update their registration (if they have moved, for example) before the November 5th election. Please watch for more information on our website.

Just 23% of eligible young people (ages 18-29) voted in the 2022 Election. Yet, when polled, most stated voting was important to them. Critically for San Antonio, young Latinos were less likely to be contacted about elections and less likely to vote*. We can do better!

Our primary mission is to promote informed and active voter participation. It is especially important to reach out to young people.  The survey and webinar are just two of many efforts LWVSA is making to engage our younger voters.
