Can We Talk?
Can We Talk? is a coalition of over 60 women's organizations in San Antonio that holds two lively events each year, one in March to celebrate Women’s History Month and the other in August, recognizing Women’s Equality Day which emphasizes the importance of women’s work for democracy.
On Wednesday, August 28, Can We Talk? will host a panel discussion on how to become an informed voter and encourage others to be knowledgeable, too. The panel will be moderated by the President of the League, Yvonne Pelayo. The panel will include Dr. John Hermann and Dr. David Crockett, both professors in the field of political science at Trinity University, Elaine Ayala, columnist at the San Antonio Express-News and Laura Garcia, managing editor of the San Antonio Report.
Please join other League members and sister organizations for an enjoyable evening at SAWS headquarters building at 2800 Hwy 281 N, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The cost, which includes dinner, is: $30 until postmarked by August 9, and then it increases to $45 postmarked by August 23 and $55 thereafter.
